Finding and studying new, unknown inorganic compounds has always been a driving force for my research. Moreover, we frequently use international synchrotron X-ray and neutron facilities, and as a result, our research has greatly advanced the field of nanomaterials and nanoconfinement.
Over the years, we have made and studied hundreds of metal hydrides, derivatives, and composites. Consequently, this has led to new synthesis methods and exciting discoveries about their structures and properties. In particular, our work has led to the discovery of several compounds with both record-high magnesium or calcium cationic conductivity. Additionally, we have created not only novel rechargeable lithium but also magnesium solid-state batteries.
This also helped find a new way for cationic conductivity caused by weak interactions, structural flexibility as well as the presence of neutral molecules in the solid state.
