My research focuses on the development and optimization of metal additive manufacturing processes, particularly Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF). By integrating experimental investigations with computational modeling and data-driven techniques, I aim to enable better process control, improve part quality, and support the design of novel alloys and structures for industrial applications.

Buzzwords:

Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), process monitoring and control, metal powder behavior and rheology, lattice structures, digital twins for manufacturing

Applications:

Aerospace part repair and re-manufacturing

Medical implants and surgical tools

Tooling and mold inserts

Industrial automation and smart manufacturing

Material development for high-performance components

Methods:

Computational:  : Finite element analysis, machine learning, discrete event simulation, surrogate modeling

Experimental: In-situ process monitoring, powder production & characterization, microstructure and property analysis

iMAT Research Topics:

Advanced manufacturing of metallic materials, Optimization of Mechanical Properties, Polymer and Hybrid Materials, AI enabled material development
